Raffles Hotels & Resorts is set to debut in Italy with an exciting new property in the picturesque town of Moltrasio, located on the western banks of Lake Como. This marks the first-ever Raffles hotel in Italy and represents a significant milestone for the prestigious brand as it continues to expand in Europe.
Scheduled to open in 2027, Raffles Lake Como is the result of a collaboration between Accor, Raffles’ parent company, and CL Hotels, with financial backing from UniCredit. The property will be housed within the former Grand Hotel Imperiale, a historical Art Nouveau villa dating back to the 1920s. One of the most iconic features of this location is its expansive shoreline, making it one of the largest hotel properties along the lake.
The renovation and conversion of the Grand Hotel Imperiale will maintain the building’s architectural heritage while infusing it with the elegance and sophistication that Raffles is known for. The design, although the studio – or studios – responsible are yet to be named, will harmonise the luxury and timeless appeal of the brand with the vibrant Italian culture, making Raffles Lake Como a unique addition to the region.
The hotel will shelter 84 opulent rooms, including 18 suites and two villas, many of which will provide stunning views of the lake. The hotel’s guests will experience unparalleled luxury and privacy, with each room meticulously designed to blend the splendour of the past with contemporary elegance.
The resort will also feature a wide array of culinary experiences, with lakeside dining options that capture the essence of Italian cuisine. Guests can look forward to the brand’s signature Long Bar and Writers Bar, known for their impeccable service and sophisticated ambiance.
For wellness enthusiasts, the property will include both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and a serene spa. A private beach club will be available to guests, alongside exclusive lake access and a unique arrival experience by water. This lakeside sanctuary will offer the ultimate in relaxation, luxury, and privacy.
