Yakusha Studio to reimagine Nordelaia’s next Riviera escape

Overlooking the glistening port, the 33-key hotel, Nordelaia Beaulieu Sur Mer, is a seamless marriage of past and present, reimagined by the visionary Yakusha Studio. Tasked with breathing new life into a 1960s seafront building, the designers have embraced a minimalist ethos, softening Brutalist edges with a considered approach to materials and form.

The interiors exude quiet sophistication, where a muted palette, organic textures, and gentle curves evoke a sense of serenity. A celebration of local craftsmanship and natural elements, the design stands in striking contrast to the gilded grandeur often synonymous with the Côte d’Azur.

Surrounded by a nature reserve, the verdant foliage weaves through the property, offering a lush counterpoint to the raw beauty of the architecture. Nordelaia promises not just a stay, but a retreat – where modern minimalism meets timeless Mediterranean charm.

A rooftop terrace – currently the only one in Beaulieu – offers panoramic views over the Mediterranean Sea, while a second al fresco space will serve tapas-style dining. Completing the offering is an outdoor pool area and gym, designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.

In a nod to its sister hotel in Piedmont, culinary direction will be overseen by Italian chef Andrea Ribaldone and Charles Pearce, a rising star at Nordelaia Piedmont’s celebrated fine dining restaurant, Lorto. Together, they promise to bring a refined yet approachable dining experience that celebrates the flavours of the region.
